Anyone remember that song? Da da da da da da dum… Ice, Ice Baby…(giving away my age again). We’ve been hit by ice.
So the kids have been home for the past 3 days and I have not wanted to chance driving on hazardous roads to buy the things I need to proceed forward on a couple of projects…and then I got a little dose of the flu yesterday. Blah. I slept as much as I could and am feeling more myself today. Still running a little bit of a temperature, still coughing, but the sun was out today, and man did that perk up my spirits! I have missed the sun these past, dreary weeks. It made the ice light up like diamonds in our back lot. You can tell a little in this picture how it sparkled.
Some of the most breathtaking scenery I’ve seen is the sun shining after an ice storm. Or when the fog freezes on all the trees and shrubbery and the sun hits it in the morning. Love it. Days like that make me long for a digital SLR camera just so I can get a picture that does it justice.
I walked outside to empty the compost and enjoyed the sun on my face for a few minutes.
Anyway, the point of this post is to explain why I haven’t put anything on here in awhile. I’m going to try and get out tomorrow to get what I need to work on the kitchen and laundry room. Might as well get everything at once, in case I get stuck in the house again–I hear that February is supposed to be nasty!
